This post was a long-time coming, considering I decorated mid-November, but there were still bits and pieces I needed to get, and I wanted to do a fun, more creative video which took longer to do. But it's finally ready!
Without further ado, here is my finished decor 2018.
Let's start with the videos, shall we? I've posted these in my Instagram stories too, and they were so much fun to make!
For those who, like me, love to watch time-lapses, here is one of me decorating the tree:
And now some more detailed pictures, featuring my cat because she's a drama queen and loves to be in all pictures (not that I mind):
Last year, I was kind of disappointed with the lack of decorations in my bedroom and I wasn't sure how to style it well. Thankfully, I found this amazing painting at Pier 1 after the holidays. I think it was 75% off and was only $30, or even less! I'm so happy with how it looks. I also found the pillows at Marshalls, and the cute plaid basket at HomeGoods.
An overview of my living room. Not much has changed, except for the garlands. I used those on my bookshelf, but decided to hang them on the lights this year. I also found the large plaid pillow at Target, and the plaid blanket at Marshalls. Both my cat and I LOVE that blanket...
Here's my tree! What's new: The "Merry Christmas!" ornaments and the large holographic/purple ornaments, all bought at Hobby Lobby. I also added the fox wood ornament that I got on Etsy last year to commemorate the founding of Fox & Spice. I'm planning on buying a fox ornament every year! This year, I've got my eye on this fluffy beauty at Pier 1.
A few close-ups of my tree. I feel like I might have TOO many ornaments. I might try to pare it down next year... What do you guys think?
Here's my bookshelf! Almost everything is new this year. I didn't like what I had last year so I decided to try something new. The pompom and velvet trees are from Hobby Lobby, as well as the white LED village frame and the metal sign behind the bear. The snow globe and the plaid wooden sign are from Marshalls. The tree in a bottle is from Grocery Outlet, the AMAZING musical bear is from Macy's (my favorite purchase this year), and all the miniatures are from last year. Sadly, the ice rink is broken. I have to figure out how to fix it. Oh, and the Advent Calendar is from my mom who lives in Canada. She bought it from Chocolats Favoris!
If I'm being honest, I'm still not sure I like how my bookshelf decor looks. I think it's a bit too busy... I'll see what I can do next year or during the after-Christmas sale.
A few close-ups! The lower left is what I have on the bottom shelf of the bookshelf. Everything is from Marshalls, except the scarf, which is from Amazon.
Here's a close-up of my winter scene because I just love how it turned out. Can you believe that I found the post office building from the dollar store?! It looks pretty good!
Let me know what you think! Any suggestions to make it all better?
