My 2020 Fall Decor

Every year, I aim to finish decorating for fall by September 1st. I spend the entire month of August impatiently waiting to get my boxes out, and even sneak a few decorations in here and there, but when September rolls around, I get stage fright. I put everything up, hate it, take it down, switch it around, go shopping for more, so much so that my decor isn't really done until mid-September.

This year was a challenge because it was my first time decorating in this new apartment, and I wasn't quite sure how to style it. I'm used to having a wall behind the couch that I can use as a focal point, but this place has windows instead. Not that I'm complaining; I love windows! However, if I ever go house hunting, I'll make sure that there's a wall for my couch.

I think I still managed to do something fun! It's very orange this year, and I added pops of Halloween around my TV, which I don't usually do. I'm loving it. I bet it'll make watching horror movies even better.

I was also excited to try out my brand new shelves, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

And of course, what I struggled with the most was my bookshelf. I always start with way too much stuff on it, and then have to slowly take pieces away and rearrange them until I like it. Less is more, guys. Don't forget.

So there you have it! I'm sure I'll be tweaking it for months to come, but I'm finally happy with how it looks for now. I hope it inspires you to decorate your own home!
