The fall season is already coming to an end. I can't believe we've already passed October's mid-point! Stores are slowly pushing out the Halloween and fall stock, replacing it with new Christmas arrivals. I'm not expecting to purchase anything new until then, so I thought a full fall shopping haul would be a perfect timing for the blog.
I have to say, I'm proud of myself for not buying too much this year. Last year, I did go a little overboard as I didn't have much to decorate my brand new ladder shelf. I was already pretty stocked decor-wise this time around. There also wasn't that many items that spoke to me, and a few that did were sadly gone by the time I came back to them. It's a good lesson to learn: if you really love something, don't wait too long!
Here is what I ended up buying this year for fall:
I was honestly lacking in fall mugs, so I picked three of them to add to my small collection. The "Hello Autumn" and the "Hello Pumpkin" mugs are both from Marshall's, and the "Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice" is from Bed Bath and Beyond. I have to say though... these are really big and it makes it hard for me to steep the right amount of tea. I think from now on, I'll stick to mugs that are a normal size.
Fall isn't fall without a nice cozy candle. I bought all of these, but I haven't been burning them enough! I'll try to remember to light them up more often. I do have two weeks to use them up at least! Not pictured are a few candles leftover from last year, which I did end up finishing off early in the season. "Pumpkin Spice Chai" is from Michael's, "Heritage Pumpkin" is from Target, and "Butter Pumpkin" and "Pumpkin Cider" (the red one) are both from Pier 1 Imports.
Last year, I was on the hunt for a good orange pillow, and I could not for the life of me find anything I liked. This year's selection redeemed itself! There were so many beautiful pillow covers and it was hard to pick just a few. I ended up with these three. The chevron textured pillow and the velvety patterned pillow are both from HomeGoods, and the orange plaid pillow is from Amazon (here's a link if you want it too).
As I mentioned above, I didn't really buy much decor items. I did purchase a Halloween snow globe but ended up returning it because it was broken. These three miscellaneous items are the only new addition to my decor this year. The pumpkin jar is from HomeGoods, the pumpkin plate is from the Target dollar spot, and the adorable fox tea sachet rest is from David's Tea. I actually got it for free; they were running a promo where you could get it free with a $30 or more purchase. I jumped on the occasion. I love me some tea!
This year, I decided to switch around the fall bouquet in my bedroom. I just wasn't a fan of the old one since it was a mix & match of a bunch of different fake flowers I accumulated over the years, and it just wasn't working. I bought all of these at Joann, and I'm absolutely in love! I love the more muted, mature colors with the deep purple.
Fashion-wise, I went a bit crazy (at least for me). I don't normally buy a lot of clothes every season, but last fall/winter, I was freezing all the time. Although I live in Northern California where it doesn't really go below zero, we tend to sleep with the windows open, and our windows are facing North, so the apartment never warms up during the day. It gets a bit too chilly for me, but I LOVE it because it means I can wear sweaters. I adore the mustard sweater with the braiding on the side, the plaid shirts (as if I didn't have enough plaid shirts...), and the fun quote t-shirt. I'm also on a purple kick this year, as you can see!
The "Pumpkins, hayrides, apple cider & falling leaves" mauve t-shirt is from Amazon (here if you want it), the Halloween pumpkin sweater is from Target, the two plaid shirts are from Macy's, the simple purple t-shirt is from Old Navy, the gray sweater is from H&M, the mustard braided sweater is from Marshall's and the mustard knitted oversized sweater is from Forever 21.
And that's pretty much for the haul. Let me know what's your favorite item you got this year for fall!
