Battle of the Flavors: Pumpkin Yogurts

I'm excited to introduce a brand new series this season: Battle of the Flavors! I'll be buying all iterations of a seasonal food item I can get my hands on, and pit them against each other until I find the Ultimate Best Version.

We're starting this series with pumpkin yogurts! With a ton of choices on the market, I'm sure you're all dying to know which one is the best, right? No? Well, you'll find out anyway.

Let's get the battle started!

Round 1 - Battle 1

Welp, this one was easy to pick. The Dannon Pumpkin Pie tastes SO gross! It has a strong chemical, overly sweet, generic taste. Yuck. The Yoplait Pumpkin Pie is surprisingly tart, but does have a nicely strong spice flavor.

Round 1 - Battle 2

I love the toppings in the Chobani Flip Pumpkin Harvest Crisp. It tastes very much like a dessert, with pie crust bits that give it a buttery, "pie" feel. Very good! The Yoplait Pumpkin Spice has a mousse consistency, but the texture is very stiff and blergh. The taste is artificial with a chemical aftertaste, and reminds me more of maple than pumpkin spice. It's pretty clear which one is the winner.

Round 1 - Battle 3

The Chobani Pumpkin Spice yogurt is very bland and quite tart. It's kind of like eating a plain unsweetened yogurt after drinking a PSL. The Noosa Pumpkin yogurt is nice and creamy. There's no spice in this one, it's just pumpkin, but the taste is fresh and well balanced. I'm gonna go with Noosa for that reason.

Round 1 - Battle 4

The Noosa Mates Pumpkin Spice is DELICIOUS. The crunch from the granola and pumpkin seeds is lovely, and the white chocolate chips gives the yogurt a nice balance of sweetness. Just enough spices, nothing artificial and cloying. The Siggi's Pumpkin & Spice is also pretty good! Well balanced and fresh. The spice is a lot more subtle, but still there. I kind of regret putting these two together because they're both good, but I'm gonna pick Noosa Mates for the granola.
First round is over! Here's what we have so far. Onto round two!

Round 2 - Battle 1

Another pretty clear winner. Like I said earlier, Yoplait Pumpkin Pie is very tart and I wasn't a fan of it. The Chobani Flip toppings are delicious and makes this a nice dessert yogurt. Hands down the winner.

Round 2 - Battle 2

It's kind of funny that we ended up with two Noosa against each other. Noosa Mates Pumpkin Spice is basically the original Noosa Pumpkin, but with the toppings, and the toppings are EVERYTHING in this one. Winner is Noosa Mates!
Now for the grand finale!

And the winner is...

Between the two topping yogurts, Noosa Mates has superior toppings with a much more fresh taste. Chobani Flip is sweeter and less reminiscent of a pumpkin spice than Noosa Mates. Overall, Noosa Mates is everything I would expect from a pumpkin yogurt.

If I'm being honest, I'm not too shocked by the results. I discovered the Noosa Mates Pumpkin Spice yogurt at the beginning of the season and fell in love with it. I was curious to see if I'd find a new favorite, but it remains the best pumpkin yogurt I've had.

Do you agree or disagree with my pick? Let me know in the comments section!
