Hallmark Publishing

For some reason, when I was looking through Goodreads and Amazon for my new Christmas book releases post, four exciting novels never showed up: Hallmark e-books! I didn't know at the time, but Hallmark recently launched their own publishing company, Hallmark Publishing, and they've released a collection of novel tie-ins for some of their Christmas movies:

Christmas In Homestead by Kara Tate

Synopsis: After movie star Jessica makes more than one faux pas in her first encounter with Matt, the owner of the inn she's staying at, she tries to prove that she isn’t just a Hollywood stereotype. Gradually, she grows enamored with the village... and with Matt, which was definitely not part of her plans. Matt’s falling for her, too, but their two worlds clash. Can an innkeeper and an A-list actress really hope for a romantic future together?

Journey Back to Christmas by Leigh Duncan

Synopsis: WWII is finally over, but Hanna’s husband, Chet, didn't return home. When the Christmas Comet appears for the first time in over seventy years, Hanna's caught in a snowstorm and knocked unconscious. She wakes up in modern times. As she searches for her place in this familiar yet different town, Hanna discovers that even small acts of kindness impact lives, and that the true meaning of Christmas is timeless.

A Heavenly Christmas by Rhonda Merwarth

Synopsis: When workaholic Eve slips on a patch of icy sidewalk and hits her head, she wakes up in Heaven and finds herself in training as a Christmas angel. Ironic, since she hasn't cared about the holiday in years. Still, Eve sets out to do the best she can at her new job. With the guidance of her angel mentor, she'll answer a little girl's prayer for her uncle Max to find happiness again.

Love You Like Christmas by Keri F. Sweet

Synopsis: Maddie, a marketing executive in New York, is on her way to attend the December wedding of one of her best clients. She’s afraid of flying, and taking her late aunt’s classic Mustang on a road trip seems like fun—until the car breaks down and leaves her stranded in the small town of Christmas Valley.

I have to say, I'm excited about the prospect of getting even more choices in holiday novels, and perhaps even fall ones! I've been a bit disappointed with the Christmas-themed books I've read so far, so I'm hoping Hallmark will fill that void of fun, light-hearted stories with a little more meat around the bone and better character development. Very eager to pick one up and find out!

Another thing to note is that Hallmark Publishing is looking for writers. If you've got a good romance manuscript that would fit the Hallmark brand, be sure to send it their way!
