As always, I've got a list of all my favorite things from this season to share with you. Let me know in the comments below what your favorites were!
Favorite Store
Joann
I'm a huge fan of Marshall's/HomeGoods/TJMaxx, but lately my local stores have dropped the ball a bit. Although they still have fun decor, the stores are always so messy, and they've shrunk the fall & Halloween sections a lot. Joann, on the other hand, really surprised me with the amount of amazing, good quality items they had on display! Both their fall and Halloween signs slayed, and I loved how much their pieces were unique and could fit in any type of home.
Favorite Decor
I don't know why I torture myself with this category every year. It's so hard to pick just one! But this year, I'm going with this amazing haunted house. I love the details, the vibrant colors, and the fact that it's a nice big size!
Favorite Mug
Boo Ghost Mug from Marshall's
This little guy won my heart. As soon as I saw it at Marshall's, I had to have it. His little blushing face is the cutest thing I've seen in a while.
Favorite Snack
Pumpkin Spice Mochi
This heavenly pillow of sweet goodness is my new addiction. I love mochi to begin with, but I wasn't expecting much from a store-bought version. I assumed it would be either too solidly frozen to be enjoyable, or the rice dough would be too thick. I was wrong! The dough is thin and pillowy, the mochi melts just enough if you hold it in your hand for a couple of minutes, and the taste is perfect. Just enough spice without being overbearing, and the right amount of sweetness.
Favorite Candle
White Pumpkin from Pier 1
I'm a fan of Pier 1's candles. They're consistently good and they offer a lot of different, interesting scents. I honestly think they're way underrated! White pumpkin is a repackage of last year's butter pumpkin, and I'm still in love with it. Buttery, sweet, creamy and lightly spiced. Perfect!
Favorite Book
Love Spells for the End of the World by Alys Murray
I've read a Christmas novel from the same author last year and LOVED it (The Christmas Company), so when I found out that she had written a Halloween novella, I had to get my hands on it. I wasn't disappointed in the least! It's a cute enemies-to-lover romance between a witch and a witch hunter, with tons of mentions of Halloween and fall. Light, funny, quick to read and super sweet!
Favorite Song
Autumn in New York by Frank Sinatra
This is definitely not a new song, but I've heard it for the first time this year on one of KJP's stories. I know, I can't believe I didn't know of it until then, and I should probably be stripped of my Fall-Lover Badge, but thankfully that badge doesn't exist so no one can take it away from me.
Favorite Movie/TV Show
Are You Afraid of the Dark (Reboot)
Growing up in the 90s, Are You Afraid of the Dark was a staple. When I heard that Nickelodeon was making a reboot, I was so excited! Unlike the old format, this one is a 3-episode limited series that centers more around the storytellers than the story they tell, but it was really fun. Great cast, PG-13 spooky story and a beautiful set. Plus, they kept the same intro music, which gave me all the feels. I'll be rewatching this next Halloween for sure, and hopefully by then they'll have another season!
Best Fox of the Season
Wooden Fox from Hobby Lobby
I purchased four different fox-themed decor pieces this season (send help), but the winner has to be this cute little guy. I love the way he's posing, and his stylized face. He sat on my nightstand all season, so he cheered me up every morning when I woke up!
This wraps up the fall season on Fox & Spice, as we'll be transitioning to Christmas on November 1st. There's still time to do something fun for fall, so don't miss out! Have a great Halloween, and thank you so much for coming along for the ride once again this year.
Enjoy yourself, have fun, and take care!
